    According to New Orleans Event Planner Thea Pagel, you don’t have to be Martha Stewart or have her purse to throw a great Mardi Gras party. “All it takes is a great sense of fun, a good guest list and a few inexpensive party favors. Balloons and beads can fill a home with Mardi Gras atmosphere without deflating the budget.   • Cottonseed oil: a popular oil throughout history

    As America’s original vegetable oil, cottonseed oil has been the oil of choice for many generations. In fact, The Commercial Appeal in Memphis, Tenn., recently featured cottonseed oil in its “100 Years Ago” section, noting that in 1909, the oil was gaining in popularity. Cottonseed oil was chosen over olive oil for canning sardines, and it worked so well that it was introduced in Norway. Cottonseed oil continues to be used overseas and close to home, remaining a popular oil for everything from storing sardines to deep frying turkey!

  • Analysts Forecast Increase in Cottonseed Oil Consumption

    Even with fewer cotton acres and a lower supply of cottonseed, cottonseed oil consumption is expected to increase an astonishing 25 percent, according to new statistics from USDA analysts.     West Coast chain In-N-Out Burger is known far and wide for its double-double burger, fries, secret sauce and milkshakes.
