NCPA holds annual meeting
Cotton growers, ginners, crushers and merchandisers recently convened at the National Cottonseed Products Association’s annual meeting in Florida. Experts shared reports on the state of the industry, including how the alternative fuels business is devouring U.S. vegetable oil supplies, thereby raising prices and contributing to higher food prices everywhere. This is reflected in the recently announced 2008 USDA forecast that estimates a four to five percent increase in food prices in the United States. - Ben Morgan
